CHICAGO—Do you have a twitiction to Twitter? Or do you need a twitionary for social media?

Show what you know—and learn what you don’t—about social media, e- commerce marketing and PR. Take Windy City Social’s Social Media / e-commerce Marketing / PR Challenge, an interactive networking event 5:30-9 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, at The Metropolitan Club in the Sears Tower.

We’re facing a Facebook world, and reaching consumers requires a constantly evolving mix of classic channels and new, innovative techniques. Only those who adapt stay ahead of the competition. Knowing how to leverage more than one touch point is necessary for maximum influence and response.

Now Windy City Social lets guests test their skills with the CEOs and pros at its latest can’t-miss event: the Social Media / e-commerce Marketing / PR Challenge. “We’ve created a dynamic networking event that allows participants to collaborate with their peers to develop and demonstrate creativity, innovation and expertise,” says Hope Bertram, Windy City Social founder. “Our events are an experience, finding creative ways to get people together and help them connect.”

Three business leaders will kick off the evening by presenting live business cases. Participants will work in teams to develop the best possible marketing plan, and then present the results to the group. Each business leader will choose a winning team to receive a fabulous prize.

There will also be time during the evening to network, meet our sponsor companies, enjoy wine from Lynfred Winery and nibble on yummy appetizers such as Beef Wellington, Pecan Chicken Tenders, Thai Vegetable Dumplings and Smoked Chicken and Black Bean Quesadillas. And yes, there will be time to Facebook and Tweet as needed.

Troy Henikoff, CEO of OneWed Inc., is one of the evening’s experts. A serial entrepreneur with a successful record of technological pursuits over the past two decades, Troy is currently leading the re-launch of OneWed.com, a wedding website providing the largest online database of wedding vendors, detailed ratings and reviews, and a smart, unique voice for wedding planning tips and advice.

Jonny Imerman, the second expert, is the founder of Imerman Angels. When he found himself fighting cancer at just 26, Jonny cherished the support of his family and friends, but sought someone his age who had survived his experience. While he never found that someone, it motivated him to provide that service to others. In 2003, Jonny founded Imerman Angels, which pairs a cancer fighter with someone the same age and gender who has already beaten that particular type of cancer. Imerman Angels has matched more than 1,000 cancer fighters with survivors since 2003.

Greg Hall, brewmaster at Goose Island, started out in the family business earning minimum wage as an assistant brewer at the brewpub on Clybourn Avenue. After graduating from the Siebel Institute in 1989, Greg began an aggressive independent study of brewing techniques, touring craft breweries throughout the United States and traveling to Europe to study Old World methods. Under Greg’s direction, Goose Island’s brewery flourishes, expanding its repertoire of award-winning beers.

All of the experts and participants will inspire, instruct and fuel one another’s thinking. It’s an engaging event essential to professionals who craft a marketing voice and an evening that guests will be talking about for months!

Registration is limited to the first 150 people who sign up at http://wcsmktggame.eventbrite.com.
